Shell Easter Event

Here are some of the pics from the Shell Easter Egg Hunt. I'm such a genius I forgot an easter basket, so we improvised with his backpack. He looked like a kid on a mission! This was his new friend, Charles. There were eggs that had paper in them reading, "prize". Charles and Shelby had been hanging out at the event. Charles had already gotten a prize egg, so when he found a second one, he searched for Shelby to share! Soooo cute! Later, Shelby found this egg that was also a "prize" egg, so we did some pay-it-forward work with a sweet little girl of one of my future team leaders we've been training.Shelby cashed in the prize egg and got to select from an array of theme-baskets.He chose "HOP" an Easter movie that we hadn't seen yet, but enjoyed the previews. (Future news: we did appropriately see Hop this weekend for Easter)I just love this shot. For some crazy reason, my girl-crazy son decided to be shy around the princesses and refused to get his pic with them, but when they came around handing out eggs with big balloons inside, he could no longer resist. But he still wouldn't let them put an arm around him. Go figure.

Happy Easter 2011!

Yes, the classic Easter Bunny shot.
I did the photo taking at the Shell Event this year, so we got the fun bunny in the crazy shorts again! :-> (flashback to 2009)
Lots more to come as we've already participated in a few egg hunts, had an Easter slumber party/egg decorating with the Grimm's tonight and have two events tomorrow! Sheesh...I'm worn out just thinking about all that photo processing. HA! Love to all and a HAPPY EASTER!

Shelby/Mommy Day at the Zoo

A few weekends ago Stacy was in San Jose getting his certification in crossfit, so it was Shelby/Mommy weekend! Shelby was tasked with getting 3 days of all smiley faces in a week, and the reward was a trip to the zoo. We had a great day.Shelby was all about reading the map to figure out where we needed to go throughout the day. On the car ride home, he reviewed the map, only to announce that we missed one animal! The warthog.
The baboons were an experience in and of themselves...as soon as they turned around, Shelby and I both were grossed out by the various growths on their rears! What is that all about?Shelby doesn't wear his hat for long before he announces that his head is sweating.
He didn't want to listen when I told him not to get off the path and investigate in places that weren't intended for guests....and he got his own punishment when he lifted something and hundreds of fast little ants swarmed up his little arm! I was helping slap them off, but he'd already been attacked. He was so upset he informed me that he needed to sit down and text daddy about that. After we had a fun lunch together, it was ride time! This was hilarious because this kids dad announced to his son, "Don't let him mean mug you!"And there's the mean mug.He was so nervous in line for the carousel that someone before him would pick the panda. We had a whole, apparently unnecessary discussion about not throwing a fit if that happened. But luckily we were good to go!
It really was a great day for both of us.

Jazz Gala Fun!

Ok, so we've been having soooo much fun this April, I'm completely behind on blogging. And now I'm going to start throwing things up all out of chronological order. Sorry! More candid shots from the night to come, including dancing videos, but here are some shots from before the fun began. When Stacy was getting fitted for his new suit, Shelby said, "Daddy, you look handsome! You getting married in that?" Stacy looked at Shelby like, "I wouldn't make that mistake twice, kid." HA!Shelby was quite happy for Mom & Dad to leave and let him have fun with his own date, Katie! Poor Katie!!!! I texted to see how the night went and couldn't stop laughing when I found out the poor girl had to clean poop out of the bathtub! Don't worry, I tipped extra, but was impressed. I only clean his poop because I birthed him! No way would I do that for someone else's kid back in the day....it would have been a surprise in the drain. LOL Yeah for Katie!
