BLUE OCTOBER!!!!

Stacy and I went to a Blue October concert Saturday night with our neighbors, Hollie & Aaron Grimm. We had a blast!!!!! I was seriously on cloud 9! I've been a Blue October fan since the fall of 1999. The concert was PHENOMENAL! One of their best ever. They did an acoustic encore and I was blown away. Justin was cool, as always, after the show. I asked the band to sign my collage above and Justin made a sweet remark about it. He gave me a side hug saying, "Aw, you're so sweet. Thanks!" We talked to him about watching him back in Aggieland and all the places we'd seen them play and he was so nice to seem overly grateful that we've been long time supporters. How down to earth!
While I was TOTALLY geeked out! (Notice rediculously big smile on my face) And, I'll admit, I cried when Stacy showed me the pick he got from Ryan, the violinist, when he threw it into the crowd. It's now autographed and I'll be making a Blue October shadow box.

Stacy & Aaron being silly
Jeremy is Justin's little brother and the drummer. He was the first one out and soooo nice to go through the crowd, signing autographs and being so polite and grateful for everyone's attendance. Their mom (whom I've also met in the crowd at a concert long ago) needs some serious kudos for raising such sweet boys!
Ryan was refusing to take pics, and we didn't get close enough beyond autographs handed over the crowd to get photos with CB or Matt.
Crinkle Nose
Shelby has been cracking us up with this whole crinkle nose/attitude thing. I wanted to showcase this shot, in case you didn't notice it in the slideshow. We're not sure where he gets it, so feel free to tell us which of us makes this face. But it's hysterical!
The other time he makes the face is when he's confused or thinking hard. If I ask him a question and he doesn't readily know the answer, he'll say, "Um...(make smacking noise with tongue)...I tink.....um......I dunno!" At "dunno" comes this face.

Haircut and Lolipop Saturday
Shelby and I had a fun day on Saturday. We went to get his haircut, and he knows that means he gets to pick out candy. After some serious deliberation, he settled on his usual - gummy worms. Off to Supercuts. She tried to tell me his hair is still too fine to spike it.

Tehya's in Texas
On Sunday we left the Jones Family and headed on the long trek to Tehya's house. Shelby was so excited to get there and see his horsey! His horse is Cheyenne, but he claims Easy. Easy and another of the horses had babies.
On Monday morning, I caught Stacy and Shelby enjoying the hummingbirds outside. So sweet.
Hey Guys!
Then, off we went to Glenn Rose where there was an exotic animal exhibit. Shelby had a great time with all the live animals walking up to your door! Actually, we all had a blast. Here's the first friend we met. It's the one Shelby tells everyone here about first, "I saw Ostrich!" He remembers him well, because the Ostrich was very aggressive and as he was coming towards the window, I realized I needed to roll it up or he was going to stick his head in and peck me! It caught me off guard and I started laughing so hard I was paralyzed for the moment. I had tears pouring down my face from cracking up, but Shelby thought I was crying so he started screaming from up front in Daddy's lap. Tehya gave up on me and rolled the window up from her controls. By the ride out, we had to go back by them and let Shelby know they were okay and their funny grins meant they were happy to see us.
Shelby liked feeding the deer and baby deer next. They seemed much less scary.

Hey, can I get some privacy, please? Tryin' to piss here, Buddy.

As ugly as the wilderbeats were the Emu.

Near the cafe was the kids activity place. Shelby found out he's as tall as a cheetah! I was as tall as an Emu. Stacy was as tall as a white rhino.

These ugly wilderbeats reminded us of Lion King.

I wish I could remember what half these animals were called, but this guy was my fav. So beautiful!

Giraffes! Just like here at the zoo, the giraffes were a car favorite. They would eat right out of your hand!

Tehya treated us to lunch at this cafe that looked out over the property there. Very pretty.

Clearly no resemblance, Babe, no worries!

I still can't figure out where this Emu's head has gone! I've even zoomed into the photo. I'm sure if it was a headless Emu exhibit we'd have left running and screaming.

Shelby's height double.
On the way out, Tehya promised Shelby that when he's old enough, we'll go see the Dinosaur World close by. For now, he was content to sit on the advertisement close to his Tehya!
Back at home, we got some nice rain. With the rain came FROGS!
I had to send Shelby with a note to school detailing our adventure so they didn't think the kid had lost his mind to the Texas heat when he went on and on about, "I go to Texas and I see horses, cats, turkey, ostrich, rhinosaurus, giraffes....." Sure glad I did! Apparently that's exactly what he did.THANK YOU for a fabulous time, Tehya! Looking forward to you talking Papa John into coming out here for a visit!

Reunion
Stacy went with Shae and Harper to a work out location Saturday morning. Since they were gone for most of the morning, Grammy and Grandpa stepped up to the plate and kept the kids entertained! Way to go, guys!
Shelby was funny. He wanted to do everything just like MaryAnn, including drink out of the pink princess cups.
Grandpa Dino and Baby Trace.
Grandpa braved the lake with the two rugrats. Grandpa and Grammy got them life vests. HUGE help!
Shelby and MaryAnn were so pooped after playing in the lake. Soon after Shelby laid around on G-G-Daddy, the two kids took a 3 hour nap! And, G-G-Daddy fell asleep in the sun.
When they awoke from their nap, they found the big kids had returned! Round 2!

Okay, all Munchkins out, the big boys need a break.

With the extra help, even Little Stacy got to join in the fun.

Shelby chillin' with Ciotka (sounds like Chuch-ee)

How about some land games.

Hannah and Aunt Linda arrived Saturday evening.

This video cracks me up for a couple of reasons.
#1 Watch Shelby struggling to get the bag of Cheetos. MaryAnn is chomping away like, "whatever dude, you're on your own" and like a typical man, Shelby refuses to ask for help.
#2 He triumphantly gets the bag of chips and gets so excited he skips half the numerical system in telling Hannah how many Cheetos he desires.
#3 When Hannah holds tight to Mommy's word, Shelby is immediately defeated and Hannah looks for help. You did good, Hannah!
Uncle Tim and Ian got there at 1:30am, coming from a baseball tournament. Can someone please tell me where time goes! When Stacy and I first started dating 8 years ago, this guy was a little pip-squeak. Now he's a grown man with facial hair! And Hannah is in college, with her transfer to UT starting this fall. Wow!

Saturday night we celebrated Shae's Birthday! We let him make us all dinner as a special treat. LOL! He did a fabulous grilling job, really, though.
On Sunday morning, Shae & Harper set up the pinata they brought and the kids got down to business!

When she was successful, their little conversation had me rolling. It went like this:

After a lot of hard work, they had to cut them a break and make a nice crack so MaryAnn could finish off the job. Shelby was coaching her from the sidelines, "Get de candy, MauwyAnn!"
When she was successful, their little conversation had me rolling. It went like this:Shelby - "Good job, MauwyAnn!" as he patted her on the back and took off (below) to get the candy.
MaryAnn - Looked up without missing a beat, "That's right, Cowboy!"
We had a wonderful time at the reunion. HUGE thanks to Grammy for all the planning all year long. Can't wait to see you guys next year! Love you all!
