At Tehya's in Texas!

We're having a great time out here at Tehya's! We made it to Texas Saturday afternoon. Uncle Shae came to pick us up from the DFW airport. Shelby was so excited to see him. He keeps calling him "Grandpa." We don't know if Shae looks older or Grandpa Dino looks so much younger. We haven't seen Grandpa since November, so I guess that's enough time to confuse little Shelby.

We went out to a nearby property with an old barn for family photos from Harper. This is the ride back. Shelby and MaryAnn were hilarious, singing away.

More pics from our time here to come.... I promise to get up early enough tomorrow to get pics of Shelby helping Tehya feed the horses.

Happy Inauguration Day

Shelby and I are at home. He was diagnosed with ear infections in both ears and slight pneumonia yesterday. Stacy and I have been tag-teaming being home and balancing work demands on both ends. He'll be relieving me any second.

Shelbs is in better spirits and we were able to enjoy a special moment in history together.

Dearest Shelby,

I'm so proud for you today and the future before you. It warms my heart that you'll live your life not ever remembering a day when the thought of a Black President felt like a lifetime away. Now that the door to diversity has opened, I have no doubt you'll see the first Woman President as well. :->

What a different life you'll have! How exciting!

There was a screen shot of a white woman holding a precious little interracial baby and I smiled. How can people believe that's wrong, when the outcome of such love is so beautiful.

Carol's Visit

Carol Wolfe came to visit! We had a great time with "Aunt" Krol, though it was a fly by weekend. We miss you already!

Shelby keeps looking to the guest room and saying, "Kay-wol?"

Carol and I enjoyed wine tasting at Wente during Shelby's nap. Cuddlin' while watching Surf's Up.

Shelby has decided he wants to be a choreographer when he grows up. We'll be talking to Brittney Spears' agent. She needs an edge to get back on top, and this is definitely "different."

Sorry I'm moving so much, but I was laughing. Shelby is trying to use the fork more, but gets frustrated easily and apparently decided that if he puts his head on his shoulder and makes a cute face while he's eating with his hands, then he's okay. That's what he was doing when I grabbed the camera, but he does it again.
