Lead the Way

Trinity Daycare's Christmas program this year came with the theme of "Lead the Way." The kids were the cutest with their songs that were so catchy, I was singing them the next few days.Shelby was looking for us constantly. I knew to stay hidden this year, hence the not so hot shots from far away.
They used these bead filled candy canes as maracas. Shake 'em, kids!It was a precious little Nicholas that stole the show!!! He was just singing at the top of his lungs and interrupted only to say, "Hey, Mommy!" but continued on. CUTEST!
Shelby: "Giselle, girl, was that you? Shoo."Giselle: "Please, Shelby! You know that was your stinky brand."
Shelby: "Oh, play it off then, girl, shhhh..."
Shelby: "Seriously, who do you think you are, Celine Dion! Stop trying to hit those high notes. You're killing me."
After the show, he was all smiles with his long-time girlfriend, Alex. Look at her cute little outfit!
It was another great year at TDLC...the BEST DAYCARE EVER!
After spending a week at home with Mommy, Shelby said this morning with a very stern look on his face and shaking his finger in the air. "Mommy, I really, really want to go to school today." Poor thing!

Rainy Day

No one here knows what to do when it actually rains in California! You can only take so much tv before you just go crazy. Shelby decided it was time to claim Daddy's car as his new playground a few weekends ago.
Watch out, people, stunt driver in the making!
Hold on tight, boys, this one may hurt a bit!

Emarld Bowl Game

Since we were going to be here in Cali for the holidays, I (Stacy) wanted to go to the Emarld Bowl which is in San Francisco. The game was pretty good and the weather was rainy, but it is always fun for me to watch football. Here is a picture of the field set up at AT&T Park, which is where the San Francisco Giants (baseball) play. I could not find anyone to go with me and Christina would have been a fill in, but I found someone a couple of days before the game. His son and Shelby go to the same daycare. Jeff played football at the University of Oregon in the mid 80's. Small world, his head strength coach then was also mine at A&M.

:-> Stacy's Cute

Okay, so I'll fight the urge to edit the below post to ensure Merry Christmas is the message and just smile at how cute my husband is.
And by the way....he got me a GPS! It was a selfish gift, as he's sick of me calling, lost somewhere and his having to guide me on yahoomaps till I safely reach my destination. LOL

Future CEO or laziest kid at TDLC

I came home the other day and the boys were at the dinner table waiting on me. I sat down and Stacy says, "Mom, Ms. Carol talked to me today. " (Keep in mind Stacy is telling this story with a tone that lets Shelby know I'm about to be disappointed with him. Clearly Stacy is expecting an appropriate reaction out of me.)

Me: Yeah, what did she say? (raised eyebrow at Shelby)

Stacy: She said that Shelby has been difficult lately and for two days now has shown a not nice behavior.

Me: (Glare at Shelby)

Shelby: (Ducks head in shame)

Stacy: She said that after breakfast she asks all the kids to get their milk sippy cups and walk to the Frog room. Shelby has been refusing to carry his cup. He told Ms. Carol she could carry it. She said no and that Shelby needs to carry his own cup. When she turned around she hears Shelby say, "Here, Spencer, you carry my cup." He walks on while Spencer carries both cups.

Me: (covering my face with napkin laughing so hard my body is shaking while trying to gain composure. I'm thinking, "That's my kid! The art of delegation!" Clearly I'm proud.)

Shelby: What's wrong, Mommy? (a little suspicious, not sure of what's going on with me)

Me: (composure gained)...Shelby, did you do that? We carry our own milk cup, don't we? Did you make Spencer carry your cup?

Shelby: (innocently telling on himself) Yeah, and Alex carried my jacket!

That's it....tag.....I'm out....Stacy in. I'm ROLLING with laughter, I had to walk away while Dad took over the lesson. My son has mastered at 2.5 yrs the art of delivering results through others.

I'll leave it up to you to decide:
Shelby....Future CEO or Laziest kid at daycare?

Happy 30th Birthday, Stacy!

Stacy's 30th birthday was Wednesday! I've been planning his birthday surprise for months now, with the help of a few other brains. I was working from home 1/2 day on Wed for the delivery of his gift. Geek Squad came and dropped it off. Then.....duty calls......back to the Refinery I drove. Unfortunately, I wasn't there when Stacy walked in and saw his present. But when I got home, Shelby was loving it.
Stacy is excited to build a custom piece for the TV to sit on that houses the DVD player and stuff to match my Papa's entertainment center. Look at the old TV on the floor to the right. Wow, what a puny little thing.
Shelby was excited to help Daddy blow out his candles.
Thanks to the Grimm's for babysitting the Shelbster last night so I could take Stacy out to a proper dinner. :->

Santa's Email to Shelby

Santa sent Shelby a personal video. He was sooo excited! Check it out. If you watch long enough, Santa opens his book and there's a picture of Shelby inside it. Shelby was so pumped.
(Thanks, Camille!)

Workin' hard for Tehya

Shelby got an Xmas box that took up half the living room delivered on Friday! :-> Saturday morning he talked us into letting him open it. It was the hit of the weekend. Christmas from Tehya and Papa John! THANK YOU! Here's your little Construction Worker.Hey! This looks exciting!
I had to remove Shelby from the living room, several times, so he wasn't exposed to the language and frustration coming from Daddy in putting this thing together. LOL!
And, just like all kids.....Shelby can be entertained for hours with just the box! Which came in quite handy while Dad was so calmly putting this thing together.
Whew Hew!!!!!!! Off to work we go.After a while, Shelby decided it would be fun if Daddy let the Front Loader chase him around. After a long day, Shelby talked Daddy into hiding in the box with him from Mommy who was hollering something about bath time.
Thanks, Tehya and Papa John!!!! Shelby loves his new, fun present!

Visit With Santa

We battled the holiday shoppers to go see Santa for Shelby's 3rd Christmas. This year Shelby is aware who Santa is, so he was excited to tell him what he wanted this year (a dinosaur). This Santa was very good with all the kids, and he even asked what mom and dad wanted.

My new life as a Red Head!

Stacy tried to take some photos so I could share the new hair color, but between the two of us, he was laughing and shaking the camera, and I was cracking up trying to be serious!
Crazy.
Stacy has Kate Walsh as one of his alternates to the top 3 women, so I thought I'd give red a try. ;->

Still missing the Morford's

Upon Cantrell & Jeremy's arrival Friday, we ventured off to lunch at Cheesecake Factory where I discovered the joy of pomegranate mojitos. Then, in honor of the drinking trend, I took them wine tasting in Livermore.
We all went to pick up Shelby from daycare and he was so excited to show off.

On Saturday morning we spent quality cartoon time with the Shelbster then the adults took off for the city, while Shelby forgot we existed. That's what happens when he's with Chaila and Aaron.
We spent the morning at the Wharf. Trell got to see Golden Gate Bridge in the distance.
Bridge is behind this crazy bird posing for pics. I felt like I should tip him or something.
Then we all stared at the amazing, stinky sea lions. These guys have such personality, they always crack Stacy and I up.
Nothing like some smelly animals to make you hungry! After some souvenir shopping, we were off to a fun, fancy lunch at the Franciscan Crab restaurant, as dungeness crab is in prime season. YUM!!!! I recommend the cocktail: Siren of the Sea. :->
Half drunk....
After lunch we headed to Ghirardelli Square. On the way we saw something we knew Shelby would love: A pirate ship! This kid is all into pirates and swords. We got him a pirate's hat and a tattoo at the local shop.
mmm....fat kids.....
Back home we enjoyed a lazy evening, In n Out Burger and bedtime routine. Cantrell made the mistake of teaching Shelby i spy during storytime. Now he won't listen to the stories, he wants to say, "Whatchu spy, Mommy?" LOL! It takes forever to get through one book. Thanks, Trell! LOL!
And sadly, we had to say good-bye on Sunday. We were all sad to see the Morford's go!!!!
Shelby ensuring Jeremy knows we're bringing the heat on Thanksgiving day! Gig 'em, Ags!
Come back soon!

Grammy & Grandpa's Visit

Shelby had a great weekend with Grammy & Grandpa! We're all sad to see them go in the morning. Stacy & Dennis had the tour 'o football all weekend. Thurs - 49ers, Sat - Cal Bears, Sun - Raiders. Elaine & I stayed home with the Shelbster, who came down with a nasty cold. He's got an awful cough that sounds so deep and painful. We've had the humidifier going. He hasn't had fever all day, and I took him to the Urgent care. No fever, 32 lbs and no infection. They did chest x-rays and everything, just in case. Told he's not contagious either, just had fluid in lungs. Hmmm.....

Grammy and I didn't completely luck out, though. On Friday afternoon, we went wine tasting locally. FUN!

Music Lover

My son the music lover. He found headphones and wanted to plug in to the computer and listen to music. I went through a few different songs and he would get angry that he didn't like them. "Not that one, Mommy!" And then, he won my heart....Blue October! And not a song he commonly knows, but some of my older favorites. He was the cutest dancing from side to side while really feeling the music.
LOVE IT!

The KING on Halloween

Shelby did an amazing job playing Elvis this Halloween. The party started on Wednesday when his school had their annual costume parade. Then, we headed to downtown Livermore with Nicole and Nicholas, where Shelby entered the costume contest. WAY TO GO, SHELBY (and NONNA)! We had a call that he won!
Nonna made Daxton an Elvis costume too, and he won 2 contests with prizes including a $100 card to Target.

This is his effort at making an Elvis face and saying, "Uh-huh"
The Frog room.Da Boyz.Shelby and his buddy, Silas. And everyone knows his girlfriend, Alex. She was the cutest little clown.Kazoos kept Shelby entertained the whole walk. Notice the finishing touch of Tehya's blue suede shoes and Chaila's guitar from Hawaii? This kid was decked out!!!
On Thursday we went to the George's for excellent food and pumpkin carving. Jett and Shelby got all dressed up for photos. CUTE!
Jett is awaiting his upcoming debut as Big Brother. Saturday we went to see Chaila's dark bride attire. Yes, a true Vegas wedding between these two. I was sporting my Jailhouse Rock ensemble. This boy has way too many ladies.......because then we were off to Berkley to visit the Mucker's and Shelby's precious little Claire! Here, Baby Claire, hold my hand. I'll show you how to trick-or-treat.
These were from last weekend.
Gig 'Em! This was following the Ags big win against Tech in Lubbock!!!!
I can't believe Halloween is over! That always means the rest of the year just flies by 100mph. Wow....
