TDLC's Carnival

The above is a compilation of Shelby at the carnival last night.  We had a blast!  We even w
on one of the baskets in a raffle.  It was a huge READING basket full of Dr. Seuss theme.  Quite appropriate for Shelby, as reading is another favorite activity of his.

Mommy's Brag Time

I'd like to take a few minutes to brag on the progress my little man is making in the world.  A few recent hilights include:
- First Pee Pee in the potty!!!!
- Counting to 15 in English (he struggles with 13)
- Counting to 10 in Spanish (he gets stuck on 7 "siete" but with prompting, continues on)

This child continues to amaze me daily....right along with wearing me out. :->
Mom

Wacky Wednesday & Garage Band

This week was TDLC (Trinity Daycare Learning Center's) 20th Anniversary.  Each day had a theme.  Monday was pajama day and parents got to enjoy a pancake breakfast with the kids.  Tuesday was camping day and Shelby took his school bus tent to share with his friends.  Featured below was "Wacky Wednesday!"  Looking good, huh?  Thursday was Sports Day, so Shelbs was fully decked in his 12th Man Gear.  Gig 'Em!
Shelby's favorite thing at school is music time when Mr. Jonathan comes to play his guitar.  He then comes home and gives us a reenactment.  With Mommy on drums, we have a real garage band around here.

Cowboys in California

Yes, there is such a thing as Cowboys in California.  For those that haven't visited Livermore, CA yet, it really is a little Texas town out here amongst the amazing Cali weather and culture.  http://www.ci.livermore.ca.us/ is the official city website.  You'll see there's a cowboy boot on the opening page.  Rodeos, wineries and symphony....doesn't get much better than this, folks.  There's even a big Feed and Livestock store outside of the city square off the main street.Quite symbolic of our chaotic household...betcha can't guess who trampled through Mommy's photo shoot. These boots are too big...These boots are too pretty...
But these boots are JUST RIGHT!

Camo kinda mornin'

Shelby & Mommy were hangin' out Saturday morning.  He was up at 5:30am (he's a 5:30-6am'er) I got him to go back to bed till 6.  I tried getting him set up with milk and a movie, and he constantly kept calling, 6:20 "Mommy...more milk please."  6:45 "Mommy, I drop my blanket."  7:00 "Mommy, oh no!" (the DVD was skipping)
UGH!  OKAY!  I'm up....at 7am.
So, how on earth do you stay mad at this cute little face.
He decided to play hide-and-seek under the table. And hide behind the wine.  He loves to hide and then holler out, "Mommy, have you seen Shelby?"So then we got dressed in his KISS shirt from Tehya.  He knew he was lookin' cool.

Easter at the George's

We love the George's!

I had to pick a few of my favs out of the slideshow.
Jett sytlin' in his G Q tie.
Janine put together adorable goodie buckets for Jett & Shelby.  Shelbs LOVED his new squirt gun.

Tee-Ball

Shelby got a $20 Target gift card at the Shell Easter party.  He decided to buy a new puzzle and a tee-ball set with it.  Stacy was soooo proud!  He pulled it out, held the top of the bat and just watched to see the Shelbster's grip instinct.  He gripped it perfect....left handed!  (Mommy's retirement plan)
He didn't want any instruction.  He walked over to the empty box and stood there stuyding the little boy on the box for a good 45 secs, then walked over and hit the ball off the stand without knocking it over!  Again.....very proud Daddy.
Okay, maybe once or twice...

I got lotion!

Shelby suddenly made up some song about lotion, so we rushed for the camera.  By then he needed some prompting.  I turned around, he grabbed my lotion and sang, "Loooootionnnnn!"  "Shake your bootie, shake your bottie, shake your bootie."
Such a hoot.

We need the hilarious moments in the weekend to get us through the rest.  We think he has allergies, on top of his worsening eczyma.  The runny nose has caused a lot of coughing and the rash has caused lots of itching.  The two together = NO SLEEP!  We brought him to bed with us Friday night as we....let me rephrase....I was awake every hour with Shelbs.  That was an even worse mistake.  I took an elbow to the breast, a foot to the nose and a slap to the face.  No napping during the day, either.  We were about to flip our lids this afternoon, when after my attempts at cry-it-out; rocking; walking him around; stroller; Stacy finally put him in the car, endured the screaming, and let him crash.  Then we took turns sitting in the car in the drive way for over an hour.  I laughed when Stacy texted from outside..."I gotta pee."
And we want another child because why again?  Oh yeah, the cute Shake Your Bootie moments.  Got it.

TDLC Easter Party

Watch this video closely.  On the bottom right across from Shelby is his girlfriend, Alex.  To his right on the end is his bud, Silas.  Alex steals Silas' plate.  After being told her plate is in front of her, watch closely.  She stares right at Silas and bites into his chicken nugget.  I've laughed so hard watching this.  Stacy got to go to the luncheon to celebrate.

Silas
Spencer on the left, then Kyle on the backside.  Ms. Stacey, Shelby's teacher, helping Alex, then Nicholas drinking his juice.Shelby took this pic of Alex.

Geeology Rocks

Our next door neighbor, Chaila, was a volcano in a school play on Tuesday.  Shelby was completely mesmerized by the whole thing.  He couldn't wait to see Chaila, then acted rediculous for the photos....maybe he's practicing his GQ look?
Great Job, Cha!

Happy Easter 2009!

Per a previous blog by Stacy, I was able to take the Shell Activities Association Easter Bunny photos this year, which was a ton of fun.  Check out www.cajphotography.blogspot.com for a slideshow of all the pics.
Shelby was the only kid all day that HAD to give the Easter Bunny knuckles.

Blow....
My handsome prince!

Strolling in Livermore

Shelby and I enjoy a nice stroll here in the beautiful California weather.  This location is up the hill, the equivalent of a block, so we frequent often.  Abby left a few "I've been here" treats of her own.

Ponies, A Bunny, & Eggs

This past Saturday we went to a family Easter gathering put on by Shell.  Mama volunteered to be the photographer for all the kids with the Easter Bunny.  During the breaks, she got to take the photos of me on a pony ride and egg hunt.

The pony I got to ride was named Raspberry.

Yes, I made another girlfriend in the short time that I was there.

Shelby The Helper...Kind Of

Shelby loves to help in the yard, but he discovered that if you point the water hose at daddy, you will get a funny reaction, which causes him to do it all the more.
