Counting and Singing

These videos are of Shelby counting (not as clear as usual) and of Shelby singing "Falalalala"

Stacy and I crack up because Shelby stops singing to lift his leg and "blow bubbles"

The pics are in!

It doesn't matter that she just delivered a baby, Harper is on the ball! Here is our precious new Stacy Mohler Jones. AKA Trace
I hope I don't mess up the story behind 'Trace' but if I recall, Harper's dad couldn't wait to have a little boy to be 'Trace' after 'tres' spanish for 3, as his son would be the III. Three girls later, he had to await a grandson. Shae was very close to Uncle Stacy so between Uncle Stacy and his brother, Shae knew he'd have a namesake son some day. It was the best of both worlds as little Stacy was to be named after the Jones side and called 'Trace' after the Davis dream. I love it!
Look at this beautiful, proud big sister!
Shelby can't say, "MaryAnn" so it comes out 'Meanie' He was excited to see 'Meanie' in this picture!

Happy Birthday, Little Stacy!

Little Stacy: Stacy Mohler Jones was born this morning at 8:30am CST weighing 5lb 7oz and 18"in length. Since we can't be there to wrap our arms around the new joy to our lives, we figured we'd sing Happy Birthday!

WELCOME, Stacy! We love you!

Grammy & Grandpa's Visit

THANK YOU, Grammy & Grandpa! We had a great time. Miss you already!
Saying good-bye.
Cheezin' with my Grandpa (Sounds more like "Ganpa" right now)
Grandpa lets me do whatever I want, including playing in the empty tub with my new bath toys with clothes on! Grandpa, what's with the crazy hair?

Grammy read to me before bed from the new books she got me! I LOVE to read!

Grammy, you are soooo crazy! Teaching me to dance the hoe down.

Grandpa and I played football. You should see my Aggie shirt he got me of a little kid in an oversized 12th man jersey that reads...hold on, Ags, I'm coming!
We raked leaves so I could jump in piles, too.I'm a Toys 'R Us kid, there's a million toys at Toys 'R Us that I can play with. From BIKES to trains to video games it's the biggest toy store there is. I don't wanna grow up, 'cause baby if I did, I wouldn't be a Toys 'R Us kid!

Shelby was convinced that Mommy needed to ride a bike, too. Grammy ordered his first tricycle to arrive soon.Stylin' with the G-ma. We make this look good.

Yin/Yang

Okay, so I feel guitly about making him sound like a little monster. Thought I'd offset that image with some fun, angelic shots. Well, maybe not angelic, really.... (Note to Harper: You'd be proud. This was no cheating...all manual...no flash, but use of overhead and window lighting f4/30. How do you get them not to look grainy though?)
PeekABoo with my Grammy blankets! (Shelby is just now saying "Blanket" it was "Bink" for a while.)

Terrible 2's...early

The teachers have informed us that Shelby is "advanced" in almost all areas of development. So why would I for a moment think he won't be into Terribe Two's before his peers as well.

He is testing all boundaries. He often yells, "STOP!" and recently started "NO, GO AWAY!" I'm beside myself as I've spanked...seems to send the message it's okay to hit, as he just hits back and usually aims for my face. I've yelled with a stern grab to the arm...works for a second, but then he gets angry and just yells back. This morning I tried being sad and telling him to "Talk nice to Mommy." He immediately gave me a hug and said, "I sorry, Mommy." I thought I'd found the trick, till a few hours later he demanded I "Go Away," and that tactic did nothing.

AUGH!!!!!!!

Welcome, Baby Tyler!

Congratulations to Sandy & Julian!
Jackson Tyler Zapp has arrived. So, precious...

Tiny little toes...

Shelby and Emily were more into the hand balloons than baby Tyler.

Debbie, Malcolm and Emily....yeah, Debbie and I were both blown away by this precious child, but agreed #2 was still a distant thought.

Shelbs did pose for a few shots and was temporarily intrigued.

YEAH for new babies in the world!

Time Flies...when you're having fun!

Seeing all these pictures of babies reminds me how fast time goes by! This video is from October of last year. I can't believe the difference one year makes in a child!

Here's Shelby in his Halloween Costume last year vs this year.

I don't rush a single day of it, either. Stacy and I often bring ourself back to appreciating every single moment! Right now, Shelby's vocabulary just blows us away. He can have an entire conversation with you. He's been putting 3-4 word sentences together lately.
"Abby, no barking!"
"No shoes on bed."
(Repeating my instructions from the day before the next morning when I put his shoes on. What a memory.)
"Mommy, get up."
(He brought me my socks and glasses Sunday morning knowing that's what I needed to get up.)
"Daddy, come on."
"Shelby's turn!"
Pretty much all demanding....Hmmm.....

Babies and Proud Siblings

Welcome to new babies! Both gorgeous with amazing heads of hair.

Aiden Timothy Villegas
Proud Parents: Tim & Veronica Villegas
Proud Big Sister: Abrielle (Isn't she a cutie! Little Diva for sure.)

And welcome to Jacob Conner Johnson!
Proud Parents: Julie & Jason Johnson
And Proud Big Brother: William (I just love this shot! The story goes that William had to know each and every name of the person that came in the room and wanted to know what their purpose was there with his brother. Protective already.)
So glad to hear both mommies are doing well.
All our love, guys! We'll get some sleep for you....LOL!

Trick Or Treat!

Halloween night kicked off with a visit by Jett, the cutest little vampire around! They had a blast playing with wrapped candy they couldn't unwrap.

Then we headed on to meet up with Sandy and Julian at the Parkers' house.

Out to trick or treat! Little Emily had to show Shelby the ropes. We met a few scary characters along the way and another house that made Daddy wanna trick or treat.

After we returned, Shelby & Emily counted all their candy...again, that they couldn't even eat....but then found someting they could! Pizza! Emily was an absolute doll!!!!!

Sandy's "Sail"ebration!

We had Sandy Zapp's Baby Shower here at the house today. Her sister, Carolyn, is an artist and painted a sailboat-themed mural on the nursery wall that's GORGEOUS! So, the baby shower came with a sailboat theme. Shelby dressed as a sailor to help greet the guests, before he and Daddy went to hang out with Julian, Daddy-to-be.

Nonny made this ADORABLE sailor outfit for Shelby and brought it last weekend when she came. I couldn't wait to get it on him, and this was the perfect opportunity! THANK YOU, NONNY!

You guys look CUTE!Sandy - The Guest of Honor!
