Good One, Mom!

Sooo....there's always those moments where as a parent you think "oh, shit...my bad."
I had 2 this weekend.
#1. We're in traffic, stopped at a light and there's a mini van beside us, Dad in the driver's seat with the kids on his own. There are two older girls in the back seat. In the middle seat was a toddler in the toddler carseat and baby facing backwards in the baby seat. I made a rather inappropriate comment (sorry for those I offend right now) like, "Wow. Really? Four freakin' girls." Silence. After a few minutes I hear Shelby say, "where's the freakin' girls?"
Oops.
#2. I hit my elbow and I yelled out, "Mother...of all!" Shelby yells from the tub, "Why you say mother ball!" No, I said, "Mother of all" but only mommies say that, buddy, when they hurt themselves.
Good recovery, right! Only mommies say that.... He's not a mommy. I'm in the clear.
Few minutes pass.
(Bonking noise like Shelby hit his leg). ......and yes, there it was, "Kids ball!"

So fire me...

Daddy's Boy

At karate class the other day, the kids got to work on flying kicks. This first video is of Shelby on his first attempt.

The instructors informed the kids to knock over the pad anyway they want to. This is how Shelby chose to do so.

Chuck E Cheese!

We recently went to the craziest place on earth...Chuck E Cheese...
All I can say is thank goodness they serve beer there.
Mike, Janine, Jett & Merritt met us there. Here's a pic of Shelby & Jett. You had to see them trying to figure out how to get lined up in the camera for this.

Wrapping it up with Grammy & Grandpa

I've still got videos from both weeks to put together, but here's the rest of Dennis' pics from Shelby's AWESOME week with Grandpa & Grammy. They took him to see Shae (Uncle Knothead), Harper (Ciotka), MaryAnn (MAWJ) and Baby Stacy (Trace).
Trace! No sir! No Texas Tech Guns for you!

Ciotka helping Shelby hold Zimmer, the hedgehog. Shelby's not a fan. Stacy stayed the night there this past weekend and discovered hedgehogs are nocturnal...lolHow many cakes can one kid get for his birthday! It warms my heart to know how many wonderful people love my son enough to celebrate his special day. THANK YOU ALL!
This pic cracks me up...are our kids on drugs already? Just say no, kids!
Awww...Grammy & Grandpa took Shelby for a day at the bowling alley...no bowling pics, but videos to come. Here's his lesson in pool.
Cruising around town, Shelby learned all the words to several "Doo wop" songs, including "Yackity Yack...don't talk back", "Buzz Buzz Buzz went the bee.." and the rather inappropriate "60 Minute Man" (LMAO)
More from the trip to Midland...sorry, now that I uploaded, too lazy to move around...hehehehe

Meet Count and Lady...CUTE!Uncle Knothead made sure the kids stay fit.
At the playground with Grandpa Dino.
I LOVE this picture, Dennis!!!! WAY TO GO!
Thanks again to everyone that made Shelby's two weeks in Texas soooooooo phenomenal!

Week with Grandpa & Grammy!

Part 1 of tons of fun with Grandpa & Grammy in Texas for a week!
As you can see from the walls in the room, covered in "action figures" (I learned early in dating Stacy not to call them dolls) Grandpa is a bit obsessed. What's cute is that each grandkid has had their chance to design and help paint their own figure. http://drjwtexas.com/Other%20Stuff.htm
Grandpa warned us that Shelby's art decal consisted of a dolphin with dreadlocks smokin illegal substances....lol
Sports are a great way to pass the time in San Angelo...Shelby's got an arm, Grandpa, watch out!The neighbors have pet goats that sure make it fun around there. While Shelby was away, I sent him with a gift for every single day, making sure I focused on his letters he's learned and the letters they were learning at school while he was out. This gift was "A" for Animals...it had a puzzle...and animal masks.Shelby loved Duke and Reveille. He did not, however, care too much for Ella....much like Cassie at Cantrell's, Ella at Grammy's is too puppy for Shelby. She stole his blanket and ran it through the backyard...there was no recovering after that.
"D" for Dog...he got to paint some bobble head doggies I sent.Lots more to come!!!!! But as you can see, the kid had a major blast!

Yogi & Cassie

Shelby got to stay one night at the Morford's with me before he began his two weeks with the grandparents. Cantrell & Jeremy's dogs: Yogi and Cassie were excited for the attention. Shelby decided he loved Yogi (older and laid back). Cassie had too much puppy for his taste.Kisses!
Best Buds
Cassie: "This is crap..."

I'm married to one "Tough Mudder"

Stacy competed in the Austin, TX Tough Mudder competition. It consisted of 10 miles of obstacle courses and endurance. He completed in 2 hrs 20min and still had a smile on his face! We were all so proud. We had a blast with everyone that came to watch him compete. It's an amazing thing to see him cross the finish line and be embraced by so many who love and support him.

He tried to kiss Shelby, but the Shelbster just screamed "Eww! You're all muddy!"
The race is all about helping your fellow man/woman along. Stacy built a team of 2 other guys on their own during the race.
One more try.....nope.....hugs aren't gonna happen.
During the long run deep into the wilderness where we couldn't go, we all hung out. Shelby was loving the big blow up Marine.
In lieu of the 4 ft flames (burn ban) they had to run through a smokehouse. Stacy looked like he just loved it when he came out...lol...
I believe Harper once quoted "The Princess and the Frog" on her blog with a pic of Shae's backside. I'd like to echo that here...."women like a man with a big back porch"....here's to the Jones Men....hehehe
Shelby was exhausted from all that chasing Daddy around, so Grandpa Dino helped out.
Shelby yelled so loud, "Go Daddy!" that Stacy couldn't help but smile and wave through the exhaustion.
Ut oh....fell down...

Stacy ROCKED the monkey bars! Soooo many people fell into the water and had to wade out, but Stacy was a champ swinging through in one smooth motion!
Almost to the end....he's the one in the water with long sleeves.
The Three Amigos are in the front together.
And to end the event, they went through the part I was dreading since I found out about this thing....the electrical shock. I believe my words were "What the F*#& for!" Seriously...why? Look at their faces!
I didn't get the pic....but it dropped Stacy straight to his knees right about here....
Stacy, Danny & Vlad.
BEER!
Okay, Shelby, "no" is no longer an option...you'd better kiss your Tough Mudder Dad.
So proud!
I see the resemblance in this picture....not sure I've ever noticed it before, since the Jones genes are so dominant. Love this pic!
So sweet!
Uncle Tim, Marine himself, came to support his nephew.
Dennis & Elaine made the drive there with the Shelbster. Dennis drove Stacy to the race that morning, so he endured a long day. The rest of us waited in line forever, missing the first 20min or so.
My mom & dad made the haul to spend time with us and support Stacy too.
Thank you all for all your love and support!
