One Smart Cookie

My favorite thing to do is watch Shelby learn. He'll turn this toy Granddaddy gave him over and over till he finds the matching hole for the shape. However, it's even more fun to watch him find new ways around a tough job. Here he's exhibiting his ability to "think outside the box."

Our 4 year Anniversary!

I hope every bride thinks back on her wedding day and swears she had the most amazing wedding ever! Stacy and I often reflect on that memorable event and smile at all the fun we had with our favorite people, favorite food and favorite music!
Thanks again to everyone who went out of their way to be there. We love watching the video on our anniversary every year and remembering your time with us.
I'm torn: time has flown by and yet how has it only been 4 years? I can't remember what a life was like without the commitment of a marriage or the joys of parenthood. How can time itself seem so insignificant? It's only 4 years and yet the joy this time has brought us feels like enough to fill a lifetime with happiness! I hurt for all the people in the world that spend an entire existance without knowing even a moment of this kind of euphoria. Knowing these people do exist helps me to appreciate every second of the gifts given to me in life: the gift of unconditional love from our family, the unwavering support from our friends and the never-ending smiles from our joy of all joys (aka Shelby).
Life just keeps getting better and better!!!! Here's to another fabulous year to come!

Happy Father's Day!

Below (SCROLL WAY DOWN) you'll find 3 slideshows as my tribute to all those special dads in my life with a special Father's Day music set.
The first is of the Daddy's closest to my heart: My Dad (the #1 Dad of all time), My Husband (#1 in Shelby's heart), Dennis (Stacy's loving father) and Johnny (Stacy's step-father by marriage, father by choice).
The second is of those Father's special to us that create an amazing world of love, support and great kids!
The last is the Daddy To Be section! Congratulations to all those about to embark on the journey of Fatherhood: "The toughest job you'll ever love"
I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!

Aunt T's Saige

Just in case you weren't feeling the resemblance between Mommy and Shelby...how about Aunt T and Saige! Actually, more recent pics I've seen of her, she looks just like her Nonna! I'm proud of my baby girl this week. She went pee and poo in the potty like Elmo does! Oh, and her daddy bought her 2 goldfish. One "went to sleep" already. But, they were named, Fish and Fish. At least she's consistent! :-> She also takes after Aunt T by torturing her little brother. Poor Daxton ended up covered from head to toe in baby powder with his big sis proclaiming, "I didn't do it!" Watch out Daxton...the yellow tootoo might just get passed down one day.

Shelby's HAPPY Dance

Shelby's got his groove on!

Gig 'Em, Aggies!

We had a great time with our fellow Aggies last night! Stacy played with Alan Rueber (right of Stacy) at Texas A&M. Cody Wallace played after he graduated, so we just met him, but he was such a lovely young man. He even helped clean up dishes after dinner! Both guys were so great and loved Shelby. Of course Shelby was showing off, pushing chairs around and being destructive. They're out here for the San Francisco 49ers football camp. We've been debating whether to be 49ers or Raider fans. 49ers it is!
I'm selfishly excited, because Alan's wife, Dori is an absolute sweetheart and it'll be so nice to have another old Texas girlfriend out here on occasion,

Lazy Sunday Morning

Shelby loves hanging out when we have lazy Sunday mornings, usually with Breakfast in Bed. Here he's playing with the singing elephant Zsa-Zsa got him about a year ago. He loves to dance now and when he dances standing up it's hysterical! Listen to him find Mr. Elephant's "nose". Then, he distructively tries to wrip it off. Maybe the signs of a future surgeon?

Below is a pic of him and Mr. Elephant a mere year ago when the big thing was that he was learning to sit up! Wow, time flies...

Mom + Dad = SHELBY

Okay, Okay...I am fully aware (and grateful) that the Shelbster is a mini-Stacy. I'm not protesting in any way. However, as Shelby grows, we start to get a little more sense that Mommy was actually a part of this process. So, I decided to do some analysis and provide the evidence. Stacy and I talked last night and we think I'm there in the nose, cheeks and maybe the mere shape of the eyes. EVERYTHING else is Daddy! I say the chin and profile, but not sure Stacy agrees.
You decide!

Where did it go?

Okay, so by the time we got the camera, we were out of banana. We're well aware the substitute is not a banana.

Dancing With Mommy

You'll want to put the playlist on the right on pause so you can hear the music in this video.

Paradise! Just a 10 Mile Drive...

10 Miles down the road dropped us off at Del Valle Regional Park where Trinity Daycare was hosting a camping trip. Though Shelby was a little young to stay overnight in such cold weather, we did enjoy the grilling and the sights. We were within 25 feet of a deer and Shelbs kept appropriately yelling, "Doe!" He enjoyed time with his little friend, Alex (the precious girl in the pink) and all the other kids. He was angry, however, when the big kids went wading through the water and Daddy had to save him from jumping right in!
On the ride home, we just kept grinning at how much we LOVE living in such an amazing place. Now, who can we sign up for next summer's camping trip?
