Pretty Nails

When I was painting my toes for a wedding, Shelby wanted me to paint his...one foot red and one foot pale pink. When I got done he said, "Hey, this one looks like apple juice (red) and this one looks like yogurt (pink)!"Whatchu laughin' at? I make this look good.I thought Stacy was going to kill me, but he admitted that both he and his brother have had their share of toe nail paintings. It was only awkward when Shelby went to karate today. LOL!

LOVE MY SUNSHINE SHELBY!!!!!

I had to share my Shelby story from tonight!
We're sitting on the couch and I said, "Shelby, do you know how much I love you?" I began to sing..."You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You'll never know, Shelby, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away." He said, "I will! I will take your sunshine away." I said, "No! But what will I do then?" He said, "Um....get a moon."

And that my friends, is a typical moment with the Shelbster! Gotta love it!

Thanks to G-G-Daddy for sending the pics of Stacy as a karate student! CUTE!

Hiyyyyya!

I asked Shelby what he wanted to tell everybody about his karate class and he says...I want to be nice to my friends.
His teacher said that to earn his first white belt, he has to do 3 nice things. Stacy and I have a sheet to record the nice things he does and turn it in at class next week. The class focuses on listening, self-control (shelbs didn't do so hot on this one the first class) and good behavior. The good news is that he had the "yes sir" down pat!
We were trying to decide between soccer, t-ball or karate...then Shelby won a raffle at the wine festival (he had to drink 2 glasses to throw his name in...just kidding!) and got 1 mo free lessons and a free uniform. Shelby cried when class was over...he wanted to stay all night.

BOWLING!

Last month we went bowling with the George's! A night out before Baby Merritt arrived. (Pics of baby Merritt to later be taken and blogged)Shelby & Jett checking out how this was going to work. Yes, Shelby's face looks scratched up. Welcome to the life of a 24/7 itchy kid. Eczeyma in the form of Atopic Dermitis. I have no idea what that means except constant skin care for the Shelbster.Beyond bumpers, they have these great contraptions so the kids aren't hunched over in awkward positions for their backs trying to give the ball enough umph to get it down the lane.Go Shelby!Nice form, Stace.Shelby's victory dance with Mike helping out.Kids playing while it's the Daddy's turns!Look, Jett, there's gum under here....yum....Jett's happy he beat Shelby!
Drum roll please....
Jett - 93, Shelby - 83, Mike - 96, Stacy - 105...and the winner is....ME - 119!
Stacy claims he stopped trying. I tell him never to underestimate the power of a girl that grew up with parents in a bowling league. Weeknights doing homework in a bowling alley, eating bowling alley food for dinner and falling asleep laid out across bowling alley chairs will absorb a bowler into anyone's skin!
HA! I don't even know if all that happened, but I know my parents were in a league and dad took us all over to tournaments on weekends....so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
