Shelby's Favorite Spanish Song, "Ella"

My boss, Raoul, made me a CD of he and his wife's favorite Spanish songs. He's from Holland, but met her in Venezuela. His 2 yrs old daughter is fluent in Dutch and Spanish and is learning English here in America. (Makes me feel lazy)
Shelby LOVES the CD and especially "Ella" by Bebe. Here's him with the whole video and then just his favorite clip. I'm amazed at how much he's picked up. I truly hope my son continues to find joy and power in learning another language and appreciating other cultures! And hopefully you all enjoy watching him grow in this arena, through videos such as these. :->
Don't forget to pause the music list on the right a little ways down so you can hear these clips.

Jammin Out!

We discovered my ipods ability to film. If this works, we're back in business.
This was a few weeks ago when Shelby was dancing to a Red Hot Chili Peppers video.

Sacramento

I know...wayyyy behind in blogs. This is from a trip to Sacramento that Stacy and I took back in May. Thanks to the Olsen's for keeping Shelby. He had just as much fun with the Olsen boys as Mommy & Daddy had on our overnight date! We went to the Daughtry concert that Friday night, then toured some of old Sac Sat morning.
Capitol
All aboard!Brunch at Rio City Cafe on the water.
Watching the boats go by.We loved all the old west type buildings.Trains are always fun...
Apparently they have lots of shows for tourists, though we didn't stay for one.
Trolly (anyone know how to spell that?)
This is what happens when I let Stacy make me get in the pic....where's my head?
Well, at least my head's not chopped off...I loved all the bright, vibrant colors!
Show off...
This guy tried to buy me a drink and wouldn't take no for an answer...HA!Play me a diddy, Stacy.I don't know what Sarsaparilla is, but for 25 cents, I'm in!
It truly was a ton of fun, and we'll have to go back one day with the Shelbster so he can enjoy the old west feel himself, and of course we can get one of those cheesy family photos all dressed up like we're in a saloon. CLASSIC...

Zeum Time

Today we joined The Pruitts (Jason, Nicole and Nicholas) and Carol & Isaiah for some fun in The City. Here Shelbs is waiting for the BART train.
Best Buds: Shelby, Nicholas & IsaiahSan Francisco's Zeum Children's Museum Karaoke, anyone? The kids sang Itsy Bitsy Spider...and rocked it! Nicholas was a hoot! He was be-boxing (no idea how that's spelled).Shelby was dying to get in line for the carousel while the others went to the playground. That was great!Playground time...Back at the Merry Go Round with the others. Daddy's turn to ride.Jason, Nicholas & NicoleIsaiah and Carol (we missed you, Jeff!) Jeff was at home studying. He's wrapping up his MBA.
The kids all crashed in our laps on the BART ride home. It was a fun filled day! Thanks for organizing, Nicole!

Hottest House on the Block!

We're sooo excited! When we moved in October 2007, we said we'd save up to have the house painted summer 2010. DONE! We used Doug Marshall (if you live here in the area, he's fabulous to work with!) that Mike & Janine used. So, us and the George's have some seriously good looking houses!I remember growing up in Olney, TX wanting to one day own a house with a red door. YEAH!
I best describe the color as a gray-based green. Very subtle. However, it's crazy how many different colors the wall can look depending on the light.
The walkway used to be this awful orange color, but is now a blue-based gray. Back patio.
Even the back area with the door to the garage and trash cans all around looks classy!
We HATE the landscaping in the back...so that'll be step 2.They did a great job of spray washing the playground. Still loving the kids area Stacy created earlier this year.
And to commemorate the newly painted pad, Stacy custom made a bird house, accenting the trim colors.
HAPPY CAMPERS!
