Singapore Day 2 - The Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens were absolutely breath taking! They weren't far from Camille's house, but the place is soooo huge there's just no way we could see it all in one day!

The way these vines from the tree wrap themselves around the limbs were quite fascinating.
There were lots of classes of various types going on in the peaceful gardens. I thought this one was pretty cool.
See, HUGE
Nature made into art was quite prevalent.
The boys started the day off okay. By the end they're practically enemies. They are wearing us out. Every day is an alpha dog struggle! Just when you think they're going to kill each other they end up walking away holding hands. Talk about love/hate relationships. HA!
These two are pretty cute with maps. Everywhere we go now, they each get a map and keep us on track.
Me & Camille (aka Mille) with our flowers the boys gave us. They're allowed to take flowers that have fallen to the ground.
I spy... Ut oh, the boys disagree on which way to go. :->
Pierce & Mommy
The boys didn't want their pic....can ya tell?
But now they're all over it. Each one demanding where I should take their picture...see the next few photos below. What goofs.
ROAR!!! Kings of the jungle! They were pretty funny throughout this place.
I can almost reach, Mom!
I can't tell you how many shots it took to try to get a decent "Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" shot to match the statue. LOL! Shelby looked like he was smelling no evil in half of them.
Then the boys wanted my camera to take photos themselves. The snail below is Pierce's work of art.
And this one is Shelby's. Sorry, son, I think the snail is a MUCH better model!
These trees were cool, how they create pots within themselves for other plants to grow.
The kids noticed the "Aggie plant". Good job, boys with the Aggie Maroon!
Camille pointed out the dew drops and I took on the challenge.
These were Mille's favorite. They have a flap and they act like a fly trap, slapping shut their flap to trap insects. Cool!
Singaporean squirrel
And frog.
This pic is a little busy, so not sure if you can see the winding bamboo.
Air guitar
Shelby, can we let go of the air guitar now?
Cool waterfalls!
Huge fish pond to feed the fish.
Another "I spy" pic....
Stacy wasn't happy with my idea for this shot, because he was drenched in sweat.
This guy was just chillin on the sidewalk! Most people stay away, because if they feel threatened, they've been known to attack. This was by far the longest hot dog we've ever seen!
When we got home, it was time to relax. Shelby wanted to make necklaces with the beads we'd brought. Pierce wanted to enjoy the twizzlers we brought them!
I love when he's lost in concentration.
And the first necklace goes to Tita! Shelby adores Tita. She's the Denton's helper from the Phillipines, and she's an absolute doll! An amazing cook, the house is spotless and she irons our clothes, including underwear, folding them all cute like a present to be opened. We're all getting so spoiled by this that Shelby offered Pierce a trade: I can have Tita and you can have my mommy! Gee, thanks son.
And necklace #2....Camille!
Shelby wanted to look older in the pic, so he made a mustache. Sounds like "mustack" when he says it.
See what I mean! The adults were going out for dinner, so Tita prepared the kids' meal. How adorable is this!
And, we're happily off for some adult conversation and laughs. Blake works so hard all day, and we're all excited when he joins us in the evenings.
Tita took our group photo.
And Tita with her dates for the night. I gotta say, no sure who's got the more handsome dates: Tita or me & Camille....hmmmm
We ventured out and though we ended up at an amazing seafood restaurant where Camille and I shared the crab and we all sat on the water, I was enamored by the atmosphere at IndoChine. Check it out! That's an actress in costume up there waving to everyone.
Off to Riverside Point for dinner.
Prom picture
Clarke Quay We enjoyed walking around, checking out the local nightlife. Much like everywhere else, there were stores, bars and lots of people drinking, dancing and having a great time. This bar is called the Clinic. It's designed like an emergency room with wheel chairs and hospital beds to sit on. Your drinks are served in IV bags! Quite ironic, as some of us have had one of those crazy nights at some point in our life where we end up right in the ER with a real IV bag to feel like we're alive again. This place is like a one stop shop!
On our way to the parking lot I saw the beacon in the night....the Shell Pectin! COOL!
What an awesome end to a great day.
