Kensi & Shelby enjoyed a double stroller
Ty, Shelby & Stacy
"AMERICAN FLAG!" I can't tell you how many times we heard these words out of Shelby's mouth, each time with utter excitement.
I couldn't resist a photo of the tombstones recognizing the spouses in the fallen soldiers' lives. Many tombstones read as the below, "his wife" with a death date much later than his own. Wow...
Ty, Stacy & I made the trek uphill in the heat to get to Kennedy's gravesite. Preciously pregnant Carol took the two kids down to an air-conditioned building to rest.
Shelby wanted to say "Soldiers," instead of 'cheese' for the pic. Quite appropriate, son.
I was a bit in 'awe' to be so close to the White House!
The MonumentIt was so hot, I was dying to jump in...
but I resisted and searched out Texas instead.
There are no words for how this moment feels...Carol and I took the elevator up with the kids, while Stacy happily dredged up the stairs to the Lincoln Memorial.
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation conceived in liberty and dedication to the proposition that all men are created equal...Me, Carol & Baby WolfeStacy couldn't wait to see the Reflecting Pool and it was empty...bummer!
The ducks didn't know where to go.
After a long, hot day, we enjoyed Carol's homemade pudding pops.
My biggest bummer is that our computer hard drive crashed after I got home. Though I had some of the photos in a draft in the blog already (thank goodness) from the first day, the rest of the weekend with the Wolfe's was lost!!!! Including the photos of Shelby and Kensi playing so cute together and of Shelby on Ty's Shelby Mustang car!!!! He detailed it beautifully and we did a shoot of Shelby sitting on the back of the car, showing his muscles with the word 'SHELBY' below identifying the amazing model. :-<
HOWEVER, the memories of our fabulous trip with friends will forever remain with us...blog or no blog. Thank you again to Ty, Carol & Kensi for such a wonderful holiday together. We love you!
